The Vacancy – Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Middlesborough/Durham

 

Torsion Projects is part of Torsion group and specialises in the construction of care homes, retirement living and residential projects. We are expanding rapidly and we are keen to hear from outstanding commercial professionals.

 

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established team in our Northern Region.

You may be an Assistant with a relevant industry Quantity Surveying Degree and some experience on site or be a recently promoted Quantity Surveyor.

Reporting to a commercial lead on a project you’ll play a vital role in delivering value, controlling costs and supporting the successful completion of a project.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing budgets, cost plans and valuations
• Conducting site visits to monitor progress and assess variations
• Working closely with operations, design and health and safety teams towards key project targets
• Establishing and developing productive and professional working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Supporting the monitoring of cost control and implement cost mitigation strategies, assessing risk, at all times acting fairly and reasonably
• Contributing data to assist with the production of a monthly commercial report, fully describing the position and plan for management of risk, opportunity, cost and value for those sub-contracts delegated to you to manage
• supporting to ensure timely agreement of final accounts with your supply chain packages

Multi-Room Experience: we’d love if you had experience with multi-room projects but this isn’t essential
