Vacancy – Maintenance Technician
Location: Leeds
Reports to: General Manager
Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: August 2025
About the Role
This isn’t your typical maintenance job. As our Maintenance Technician, you’re the friendly face with the toolkit, the one who keeps the place in top shape, solves problems before anyone notices them, and makes sure our building stays as welcoming as the people in it.
Whether it’s touching up paint, fixing a door, or making sure all safety checks are ticked off, you’re a vital part of what makes the LUNA experience feel effortless and well looked after.

What You’ll Be Doing
Hands on hero
- Respond quickly to reactive repairs- scuffed walls, broken blinds, doors needing a little TLC
- Keep shared spaces, corridors, and flats looking fresh, clean, and ready for everyday living
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance (PPMs) to stay ahead of any issues
Detail oriented decorator
- Tackle painting and decorating tasks to keep the building looking smart and well cared for
- Stay on top of high-traffic areas and help with regular refreshes
- Take pride in presentation, because first impressions really do count
Safety & Compliance champ
- Complete regular checks like fire alarms, emergency lighting, and legionella testing
- Keep detailed records of all work and flag anything that’s a safety risk
- Work closely with your GM and team to make sure the building stays safe, secure, and running smoothly
Reliable, Visible & Friendly
- Be approachable and helpful when students report maintenance issues, you’re the reassuring presence who gets things sorted
- Communicate updates clearly and kindly, keeping students informed
- Support wider site activities like inspections, open days, and occasional events—teamwork makes it all happen
Who You Are
- You’ve got experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a similar hands-on role
- You’re skilled in painting, decorating, and general upkeep
- You’re health & safety aware and understand the importance of keeping things compliant
- You’re organised, proactive, and take pride in doing a job well
- You’re approachable, friendly, and work well with a diverse group of people
(Got an NVQ, 18th Edition, or trade qualifications? That’s a bonus—but not a dealbreaker.)

The Nitty Gritty
- 40 hours per week
- Some weekend work will be needed, but we’ll always balance things out
- Based at your LUNA property, expect the odd trip to HQ or other cities (travel expenses covered)
