TOPPING OUT: Westminster Works, Birmingham
We are pleased to confirm the topping out of Westminster Works, our 220-apartment Build-to-Rent scheme on Alcester Street in Digbeth. The ceremony brought together clients, funders, delivery partners, local authority representatives and our on-site workforce to mark this important construction milestone.
Topping out acknowledges the completion of the building’s primary structure and the transition into the next phase of delivery. With the frame in place, the site team is now focused on façade installation, internal fit-out and the commissioning of building systems to bring the development to operational readiness.
Westminster Works will deliver a mix of high-quality one- and two-bedroom apartments designed for modern city living. Sustainability measures are integrated throughout the scheme, including rooftop solar photovoltaic panels and green roofs to support urban biodiversity and help reduce energy demand.
The development will also create employment during construction and operation, and it will support local businesses by increasing footfall in the area. Its location close to key transport links enhances the scheme’s appeal for commuters and city residents.
We extend our thanks to everyone involved in reaching this stage. The dedication of the on-site team and the collaboration of our delivery partners have been central to achieving this milestone.
Next steps include continued façade works, M&E commissioning, internal finishes and systems testing as we move through the next phase of delivery. We will share further updates as Westminster Works progresses.
