Dan Spencer forms Torsion Group in 2015 and takes on the challenge to deliver its first purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme for Crosslane.

In 2016, the average contract awarded to Torsion Group breaks the £10 million threshold.

In 2017 Torsion Group receive award for 'Number 1 Best Main Contractor to Work With - Under £50 million Turnover' at the Construction Enquirer Awards.

Dan Spencer and David Worsley launch the Torsion Developments brand in 2018 to develop opportunities in the student accommodation and residential sectors.

Moorfiled Group and Torsion Group enter into a joint venture partnership to deliver The Toy Box, a 290 purpose built student accommodation development.  The Gross Development Value was worth £26m and forward fund exited in 2022, with a 100% return on our investment.

Torsion Students launched, and Tommy Styles was appointed as its Managing Director to operate purpose-built student accommodation schemes for Torsion Developments.

Dan Spencer and Martin Hutson launch the Torsion Care brand in 2018 to develop opportunities in the care home and retirement living sectors.

In 2018 Torsion Group receive award for 'Number 1 Best Main Contractor to Work For - Under £50 million Turnover' at the Construction Enquirer Awards.

In 2018 Torsion Group are recognised by The Sunday Times for the Fast Track 'Ones to Watch' award.

Torsion Group recognised at the Wardhadaway Fastest 50 Yorkshire Awards Ceremony and announced Winners for 'Fastest Growing Large and Overall Business'.

Burghley Retirement brand launched to operate accommodation properties for the retirement living sector.

Torsion Group Awarded Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2020.

Harrison Street team up with Torsion Developments to secure a £200 million equity project pipeline. 2000 purpose built student accommodation beds to be delivered over a five year partnership.

Care home development in Derby sold to an operator in Q1 2021.

Torsion commences construction works on its first build to rent scheme in Leeds City centre. Gross Development Value circa £84 million for the delivery of 367 luxury apartments.

Our Pine Mill development in Lincoln has achieved 3 star Fitwel certification.
