Delivering High-Quality, Sustainable Care Facilities for the Future

Torsion Care has begun construction on its new care home development in Otley, West Yorkshire. The 66-bed, three-storey facility, funded by Elevation and operated by Tanglewood Services, will provide modern, high-quality care in a purpose-built environment.

After receiving planning approval and acquiring the site, Torsion Projects started groundworks, including site preparation, drainage installation, and the demolition of an existing dwelling. The project is set for completion in 2026 and will be located on Pool Road, next to Otley Garden Centre.

Designed for Sustainability and Efficiency

Torsion Care is committed to delivering top-tier care environments that prioritise sustainability and operational efficiency. This all-electric scheme targets EPC A certification and aims for a BREEAM In Use ‘Excellent’ rating. The development will feature air source heat pumps (ASHP) and photovoltaic panels (PV), reducing carbon emissions and ensuring long-term energy efficiency.

A Bespoke Approach to Care Home Development

Torsion Care’s building design offers a flexible, cost-effective solution for operators. It combines key operational efficiencies with the ability to tailor spaces to meet specific care needs. This partnering approach ensures that each facility supports excellent resident care while remaining financially and environmentally sustainable.

As construction progresses, the next few months will focus on structural work and infrastructure installation. Torsion Care will continue to provide updates as the project develops.
